The Birding Challenge is York County Audubon’s annual “big day” fundraiser. In mid May, during spring migration, teams of birders scour the county looking for as many species as they can see or hear in 24 hours.
Local businesses support the birders through monetary and in-kind donations. YCAS then redistributes the money raised to organizations that have a powerful impact on the county’s birds, bird habitats, and birding areas.
