October 17th – A Bird Walk to multiple spots in Biddeford Pool
October 17 @ 8:00 am - 10:00 am
Free
A Northern Gannet
Join us for a walking tour of multiple Biddeford Pool hot spots! We will meet at 8am at the Biddeford Beach parking lot (search for “Gilbert Boucher Park” in maps) and travel a loop that will allow us to observe several habitats during the tail end of fall migration. We will take the new boardwalk from the parking lot to Fletcher’s Neck Sanctuary, a prime spot for migrating sparrows. We will continue to Great Pond where we can look for waterfowl and wading birds. We will then explore the wooded path and vernal pools at South Point Sanctuary before heading out to the beach to scope for seabirds including gulls, scoters, grebes and more. The terrain will be mostly well-maintained paths and roads, with one section taking place on the beach.
This walk is provided at no charge and all are welcome!
